1 series: Al pure aluminum features:

More than 99.00% aluminum, good electrical conductivity, good corrosion resistance, good welding performance, low strength, can not be strengthened by heat treatment. Application: High purity aluminum (containing more than 99.9% aluminum) is mainly used in lighting appliances, reflectors, decorations, chemical industry containers, heat sinks, dissolved wiring, conductive materials and special purposes. Typical grade: 1050 (more than 99.5% aluminum) for extrusion coils in the food, chemical and brewing industries. 1060 (aluminum content of more than 99.6%) is used for occasions requiring high corrosion resistance and formability, but the strength requirement is not high.

2 series: Al-Cu aluminum-copper alloy Features:

Aluminum alloy with copper as the main element. Manganese, magnesium, lead and bismuth are also added for machinability. The disadvantage is that the intergranular corrosion tendency is serious. Applications: Aviation industry (2014 alloy), screws (2011 alloy) and industries with higher temperatures (2017 alloy). Typical grade: 2011 alloy, aluminum plate fast cutting alloy, good machinability and high strength, but poor corrosion resistance. 2014 alloy for aerospace industry, high strength. The 2017 alloy is a little less strong than the 2014 alloy, but it is easier to work. 2618 alloy for forging aluminum plates. High temperature strength is superior but corrosion resistance is not good. Piston, rubber forming die, general heat-resistant components. 2219 aluminum plate has high strength, good low and high temperature characteristics, excellent solubility, but poor corrosion resistance. Cryogenic containers, aerospace machines.

3 series: Al-Mn aluminum alloy features:

Aluminum alloy with manganese as the main alloying element, can not be strengthened by heat treatment, good corrosion resistance, also known as rust-proof aluminum, good welding performance, good plasticity. The disadvantage is that the strength is low, but it can be strengthened by cold work hardening. It is easy to produce coarse grains during annealing. Application: oil guide seamless tube (3003 alloy) used in aircraft, cans (3004 alloy).

4 series: Al-Si aluminum-silicon alloy Features:

Mainly silicon, not commonly used. Some 4 series alloys can be strengthened by heat treatment, but some 4 series alloys cannot be heat-treated. Typical grade: 4032 Good heat and friction resistance, small coefficient of thermal expansion. Piston, cylinder head. 4043 less solidification shrinkage, with sulfuric acid anodizing treatment of natural gray hair color. Dissolve wiring, building panels.

5 series: Al-MG aluminum magnesium alloy Features:

Mainly magnesium. Good resistance, good welding performance, good fatigue strength, can not be strengthened by heat treatment, only cold processing to improve strength. Application: Handle of lawn mower, aircraft fuel tank conduit, body armor. Typical grade: 5005 aluminum plate strength and 3003 aluminum plate, processability, solubility, corrosion resistance is good, after anodizing modification processing is good, and 6063 shape material color commensurate. Application: building inside and outside, vehicle inside, ship inside.5052 aluminum plate is the most representative alloy of medium strength, with good corrosion resistance, solubility and formability, especially high fatigue strength and seawater resistance. Uses: General sheet metal, ships, vehicles, buildings, bottle caps, honeycomb plates. 5652 aluminum plate limits the impurity elements of 5052 aluminum plate, and inhibits hydrogen peroxide separation of the alloy, other characteristics and 5052 with hydrogen peroxide container.

Series 6: Al-MG-Si aluminum-Mg-Si alloy Features:

Mainly magnesium and silicon. Mg2Si is the main strengthening phase and the most widely used alloy at present. Medium strength, good corrosion resistance, good welding performance, good process performance (easy to extrude forming), good oxidation coloring performance. Application: The most widely used alloy at present, interactive tools (such as: car luggage rack, door, window, body, heat sink, box shell). Typical grade: 6063, 6061 used the most, 6061 is mainly used for aircraft parts, camera parts, ship parts, valve parts, all kinds of hardware and electronic accessories. 6063, 6060 and 6463 have relatively low strength in the 6 series. The strength of 6262, 6005, 6082 and 6061 is relatively high in the 6 series.

7 series: Al-MG-Zn-Cu aluminum magnesium zinc copper alloy features:

Mainly zinc, a small amount of added magnesium, copper, belongs to the aviation series, is aluminum magnesium zinc copper alloy, is heat treatable alloy, belongs to super hard aluminum alloy, has good wear resistance, but also has good weldability. The hardness of superhard aluminum alloy is close to that of steel. The extrusion speed is slower than 6 series alloy, and the welding performance is good. Application: aviation (aircraft bearing components, landing gear), rockets, propellers, aerospace. Typical grade: 7050 for aircraft structural parts with medium and thick plate, extruded parts, free forging and die forging. 7075 is used in the manufacture of aircraft structural parts, as well as high-stress structural parts with high strength and strong corrosion resistance, mold manufacturing, etc.
