5052 aluminum alloy belongs to Al-Mg alloy, which is widely used, especially in the construction industry, it is one of the most promising alloys. Good corrosion resistance, excellent weldability, good cold workability, and moderate strength.
The main alloy element of 5052 aluminum alloy is magnesium, which has good formability, corrosion resistance, weldability and medium strength.
It is used in the manufacture of aircraft fuel tanks, oil pipes, traffic vehicles, ships, sheet metal parts, instruments, street lamp brackets and rivets, hardware products, electric shell, etc.

● The alloy has good plasticity in hot state process. Forging and die forging temperature is 420~475°C, in this temperature range, the deformation rate of more than 80% of the hot deformation.
● The cold stamping performance is related to the alloy state. The cold stamping performance of annealing (O) state is good, followed by H32 and H34 state, and H36/H38 state is not good.
(2) welding performance
● The alloy has good performance in gas welding, electric arc welding, resistance welding, spot welding and seam welding, and the tendency of crystallization crack appears in diargon arc welding. Hard brazing performance is good while soft brazing performance is poor.
● The strength and plasticity of the weld are high, and the strength of the weld reaches 90%~95% of the strength of the matrix metal. But the air tightness of the weld is not high, it is recommended to use 5A03 alloy as solder, which can improve its air tightness and eliminate the crack tendency.
(3) Machining performance
The cutting property of the alloy is not good in annealed state, but improved in cold hardening state.
